Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the charming village of Castirla, Restaurant Chez Jacqueline Le Relais invites you to indulge in the rich and authentic flavors of Corsican cuisine. As you approach this hidden gem, the inviting terrace beckons you to experience a dining atmosphere that perfectly melds the tranquil ambiance of the countryside with the warmth of Corsican hospitality.

The menu pays homage to traditional Corsican dishes, boasting an impressive selection that showcases the island's culinary heritage. Guests rave about the incredible mountain cheese doughnuts, which are not just a dish but a culinary experience—crispy on the outside, soft and savory within. Pair this heavenly treat with the house-made, garlicky anchovies for a flavor explosion that dances on your palate. The flan is a must-try dessert that ends your meal on a sweet note, leaving a lingering taste of satisfaction.

The reviews tell a story of abundance and authenticity. Marya Valli describes the experience as a “wonderful cuisine Corsica” with a “copious menu” that never feels rushed—a perfect mix for a relaxed summer dinner. Noam Yatsiv, after a month-long culinary adventure across the island, declares it the best meal he's had, emphasizing the generous portions that redefine what it means to share a meal (or two) in good company.

Even in the sweltering heat of 45 degrees, guests like Richard Shami found that one full menu sufficed for a group of seven, a testament to the impressive portion sizes that ensure no one leaves hungry. Whether you're enjoying a casual lunch or an elegant dinner, the friendly service enhances the overall experience, as noted by many diners. While Vaclav Blaha points out the minor inconvenience of cash-only payments, he quickly adds that “the food was very good”—and at a place where you can feast on authentic Corsican dishes, that's what truly matters.

Coupled with the picturesque views from the terrace, the dining experience at Restaurant Chez Jacqueline Le Relais is not merely about eating; it’s about making memories through the celebration of food. So whether you're a lover of homestyle cooking or a curious gastronomic adventurer, you owe it to yourself to visit this local treasure. Gather your friends or family and prepare for an unforgettable culinary journey that highlights the best of Corsican traditions in every bite. This is more than a meal; it’s a celebration of culture, flavor, and community.

Wonderful cuisine Corse, copious menu, appealing terrace. Service friendly and a bit slow: relaxed summer dinner.

Hands down, the best meal we had in 30+ days on the island. Wonderful home cooked traditional cuisine that you won't find anywhere else. The mountain-cheese doughnuts are amazing, paired with their homemade garlicky anchovies... the flan is terrific. Everything so well done. Take the large menu (even 1 is enough for a hungry couple). Portions are very very (very) generous. And they gladly offer to pack leftovers. :) The tempo is of a Corsican village, the meal will take 2-3 hours. But service was very friendly and kind, our waiter was Jaqueline's grandson. A real family establishment.

Was real good. Just one menu with local food. Very fast service and nice seating area outside

I have seen seen so much well cooked food in all my life I think, the quantity and quality was amazing. It was so hot... about 45 degrees that we ordered 1 full menu for all 7 of us :)

Delicious meals. The only drawback is that they don't accept cards. But the food.. food was very good.

simple: if you are hungry, you should not miss the authentic food of Corsica

Fantastic home-style food with attentive, friendly service in quite village ambiance. A true find for lovers of authentic Corsican food.
